fuel filters

ok how often do u need to change the filter? is there only 1 filter the one next to the oil one or is there more? and were can u get the filters at a good price thanks for any info

I change mine every 15K. Walmart sells motorcraft filters for cheap!
I order mine off the net most of the time. Buy ford OEM though

Wix is just as good or better than Motorcraft and a whole lot cheaper!

the wix filters I put in were exactly the same as the "motorcraft" I took out and my truck had ONLY been serviced by my dealer due to an extended warranty service contract. same patent/patent pend. numbers on both.

That is the big thing with filters, you can buy cheap ones that are inferior to the original equipment, and if they match, great if they do not… IMO do not buy them.
…….with a difference of 5 bucks on a 45K truck…..cheap insurance.

There are two fuel filters. See the instructions at the following link:

Fuel Filters Change Procedure

Read them thoroughly. Fuel filters should be changed at 15000 or sooner if you see debris when draining the fuel/water separator that you do each month or so.

i thought there was a light that gos off when u need to drain the water in the fuel?

Thanks for the link on changing fuel filters. I've been looking for how to do that and wondering how hard it was. I'll be doing that this weekend if the UPS guy brings them on time.
