1990 302 EFI Problem
I have a 1990 full size Bronco with a 302 EFI, auto transmission with 144,000 miles. The engine makes a "popping" sound upon acceleration, both at low and high speed and I can't seem to figure out what is causing this problem. I've had the computer checked and all codes are showing OK. I've even had the computer checked while driving with the "popping" sound and the codes also showing that nothing is wrong. I've have it narrowed down to a bad valve spring, faulty fuel injector or possibly a bad intake manifold gasket. If anyone has any suggestions as to what might be the cause of this problem or if you've experienced this same problem or similar problem, please let me know. Thanks.

it may not be either of those. on the passenger side up by the hood hinge there is a vacum looken type canister that has a cable or pivot deal that would go in and out and has something to do with the vent system in the rig. if that line has come off or is not working properly there is a vent that makes a POP sound when driving like you have discribed. mine does this and i have to reattach the cable deal to this canister. If anyone knows the general area im talking about and could snap a pic it would sure help
