Does anyone have pics of their bronc's with soft tops? I'm considering it! I have a 92 and it has shoulder harness seatbelts in the back and the tail light on the back of the hard top. It will be more work but i think its worth it. thanks... I appreciate it!
You can get one but you can't tell the manufacturer its for a 92 or later. They are skittish about selling them because of the seatbelt and stop light issues it creates. Both the seatbelts and the stoplamp are federally mandated equipment. Not to say there aren't ways around it.
I always do this but I figure its an option...check my gallery for another option...
hey thats alright! did you cut the top yourself? ...I would just remove the top and let it go for now but i live in pensacola... and i don't want to do it until hurricane season is over
Yeah I cut the top. The fiberglass is only about 1/8" thick there in the top so cutting was simple. I have detailed pics and notes if you are interested in doing what I did and having a cover for the hole once you have cut it. The really nice part about doing this with your top or another top is that you retain your seatbelts in the rear and your high-mount stop lamp. If you wanted to you could even put all the interior trim and the headliner back in and still not lose your rear dome light as well.
I do have pictures of the top with the soft section in the top completed. I still haven't gotten the side windows completed. Here are a couple. Check the same gallery as I have added more photos as of this afternoon. As the photos show, the overall appearance of the truck doesn't really change.
that is fantastic work! you are the first i've seen do that! you're a true artist... but i wonder...since i do live in Florida, the liquid sunshine state, is it totally waterproof? but i guess its no different than any softtop in that aspect... i love it when i answer my own questions!
Since I don't have the side windows finished I can't completely answer that question. However, I have never gotten water in around the top section even while driving. Now, I don't think a direct shot from the power nozzle at the carwash would be a good idea but for normal driving, the top section has no leak problems.
