Transmission: Which one do I have?
Hm. I'm confused. Is there an easy way to tell which one I have, without hoisting the thing up? I have a 97 4.0, but I can't tell if it's a Four or Five speed auto. Non-AWD.

On the driver's side door, there will be a safety compliance and build code decal. On the bottom row of the decal, there will be a set of codes for body, paint, trans, and rear axle. Check the trans code and post it and we can ID your automatic for you specifically.
