Hey, I am new to the site and was wondering if anyone knows where to go to check out F250 specifications for trucks built between 1990 and 1999. I am in the market for a nice used truck and would like to compare features, mainly engine, drive train, four wheel drive options and such. I have owned a 1966 F150, 1973 F250, 1980 F100, 1987 Ford Bronco, 1986 Ford F250 and a 1994 F350 Crew Cab 4X4 and am looking for a great truck built between 1990 and 1999. The 86 F250 was a great truck and the 87 Bronco went 288,000 miles before the heads came off. I LOVE FORD TRUCKS!!!! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marshall Burns

3/4 and one 1 tons should be the same (body wise) from 87-91, 92-97, an 98-04. 87-95 would have had OBD1 motors 96 and newer would be OBDII, anywhere from the 300 inline six, small block 302 and 351 v-8s to 460 gas and 7.5 liter diesel v-8s. Manual transmissions would include the zf 5 speed (creeper first, overdirve 5th). Automatics would probably be an electronically shifted 4 spd (E4OD), but you might find a C6. Not sure what transfer case you might find... Pretty sure most of this is correct, but if I'm wrong, I'm probably close!
Thanks for the information. I am also looking for the performance specifications for each type of motor/trans/etc. I am intending to make this my last Ford truck purchase for a while and would like to make an educated decision.
If anyone else has more information I would sure appreciate it.
Again I want to thank sandrat for the great information but that leads to a couple more questions. First what is the difference between an OBDI and OBDII motors? (I don't even know what OBDI means ) As far as that type of motor goes is one a better performer in regards to torque & HP? I am not locked into a particular year and would rather end up with the stronger motor of the two if there is a difference. I loved my 460, are either the OBDI or OBDII available in a 460? As this may end up being a partial family car I am inclined toward the automatic tranny and again I am naive in the difference between a C6 and an electronic E4OD model.
My Bronco had manual hubs (not Warn like my old Tojo FJ55!!) that were less than perfect, my F350 had automatic 4 wheel drive which was great in the snow! Any thoughts on the Ford products in regards to the 4 wheel drive setup?
All advice is appreciated in advance. I hope to make this purchase before deer season or at least before the holidays! I miss not having a Ford!!!
