Hey people, how hard is it to change a oil pan on a 87 F250 with a 302[5.0].The reason I ask is because I was going to change the oil and noticed the drain plug has been messed with and has a rubber plug in it.should I change the pan or keep the plug. Tony P.S. It`s a 4x4 and a stick if that matters. thanks
Well they call them emergency plugs.....they don’t last a long time, just don’t over tighten it, use your fingers.
One step up from the E plug, is an oversize plug, you will need to tap the hole with a special oversize tap then just thread the plug in.
The best is to replace the pan of course, but it’s a job, you need to lift the engine enough to get the pan out.
