Fricken trans!
Well I heard some noise and had it checked, they said it was in the TC but when pulled down all was good. So I crawled under and it was coming from the trans. 2001 V10 Excursion 79K miles. I went to a local shop when I got home and he pulled the pan to find most of the planet gears teeth in there. I left it he said he was going to replace all the friction materials, clutches, planet gears and go through it from top to bottom and have it back to me tomorow. So my question is am I getting a good deal for $1600? Also has anyone else had problems? He said this is the 5th 2001 this week with bad planet gears, 3 PSD'd a 5.4 now mine.
