Hello. I'm from Manila, The Philippines. I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Limited bought used in Japan with 66k miles on it. Used daily in Manila. I junked the air ride (because fixing them cost more than an arm and a leg) and replaced the rear springs with ARB springs from Australia and all the shocks with Old Man Emu Nitrochargers. I got a better ride and immensely improved handling and cornering.
No. It is the OHV 4 litre. My impression is this is a more solid motor in the sense that it does not have the niggly problems of the OHC engine although the power difference is vast. With only 160 hp new from a 4 L, that's actually the current output of engines about half the size although I know I have more torque.
