1989 E-350 egr code 33
Hi folks....My van has an intermittent miss...kinda like someone pulled the coil wire off then replaced it....engine light comes on when it stutters and goes out when it rights itself....a scan with a snap-on scanner showed code 33...so now I want to remove or disconnect the egr as the rusty's have got to some of the pipes...I've searched for info but can't find anything conclusive...help

I'd get a cheap multimeter/ohmmeter and vacuum pump (I used vacuum from the engine as it idled), along with a haynes manual, then you can test each solenoid or egr valve and go from there. I have had a few problems with the emissions equipment, once it was an actual solenoid and the other a vacuum hose, so it could be anything and still show simillar codes.
