rusty engine

what are some methods or products I can use to remove rust from my engine ?

oh, and what can I use to keep the rust away?

Not sure on the best way to remove the rust but most parts stores carry "engine" paint.

ha ha funny , paint is every were. still doe not answer my question .

first use a degreaser to clean the engine, then purchase a couple cans of "rust eliminator" and spray down the engine, rinse off, do this step several times, it even helps to get a stiff steel brush and work the rust eliminator into the area you are treating. I would then hit it with degreaser yet again and rinse. After all that I would then paint the engine with engine paint with a rust proofing additive. I've seen the Rust Eliminator at NAPA for around $6 a bottle.

thank you wresleu , i will try that that.I'll let you know how it turns out. KenOO,I don't want to paint the engine,just remove the rust. Thanks guys.
