I saw a setup on a truck at my buddys shop, it was an 83 like my truck but it was converted to solid axle 4x4. it had the coil spring and radius arm setup like a 1970's model ford, and a panhard bar coming from one of the old I beam mounting holes. dont know if i should post this on the 70s ford forum.....

now im really interested in doing this swap on my 83 F-250 myself, im going to go ahead and do axle and lift first and then do the transfer case/driveshaft work later.

all i need is to find me an axle, id like to have a dana 60 because thats what i have in the rear, im guessing one off a 70's model would have the same width and all i would need is to buy some radius arms and drop brackets and new coil springs, and some rear springs or blocks. i can make the panhard bar myself.

my buddy didnt know what the axle came off of but if anyone could tell me what year i might be looking for to find a dana 60 compatible for this setup or maybe even if a 50 might work, but i dont really want to go to a 44 seems a little weak for a 250 HD, and im going to make my truck tough offroading machine. also a little info on what transfer case id be looking for later would help alot, i have a c6 tranny.
