All heat/air/blower controls work except for the Max A/C air position. When I move the lever to Max A/C nothing happens, everything works just as if the switch was still in the Panel position. The Panel, Floor, and Defrost positions work fine. Obviously the cables are hooked up as the other settings work.
This is a 1990 Bronco II XLT with around 190K on it.
Also, I don't hear any "swoosh" noise when I move the switch to Max A/C. I know this thing is vaccum controlled. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? I'm hopeing to get some ideas before I start tearing things apart. I usually break more than I fix. :-)
As far as the high setting switch, it's on a completely separate fuse. Ours doesn't make a swoosh noise when we put it on max. It just pushes out cooler air. Check the fuse panel and be sure the high a/c fuse is still okay. That's a cheap fix if that's all it is. Good luck. Angel
Some vehicles use a relay to control fan speeds. Look near the A/C parts for one. They are usually pretty cheap and most of the time the same part gets put on many different vehicles. Good luck, cause its hot out there.
