Weird problem starting truck!
All was well until yesterday. Got home from work in the afternoon, went in to change clothes and eat a bite. Went back out to go check the cattle after about an hour and the truck wouldn't start. Everything electrical worked but when I turned the key - nothing!!!! I can hear a click behind the dash but i don't hear the selenoid clicking. I took each of the battery cables loose and cleaned them, put them back on and wow, it started. Thought that was it but today it happened again. Just like yesterday! What gives? It's like I've left the tranny in "drive" and tried to start it, but that's not it. Anyone have any idea's what my problem might be, I am at a lose! Thanks!!!!! Paul

Hey!
I would suggest when it happens to drop into nuetral, retry, then hold key to start and move shifter R to D (hold foot on brake real hard) and see if that narrows it to neutral safety switch.

i had that problem one time recently. it would turn on but not crank or anyhitng. it turned out to be the glow plug relay (i think), its on top of the engine with 4 wires going to it. fist fix was tapping it with a hammer, and well, it worked! but then it didn't start again so i picked up a new relay at autozone or somewhere, swapped them out and its worked fine since. jsut don't miss-wire it like i did the first time....no problems, just drains the betteries.... hope thats a help
