If the goal is just to "LOOK really mean," with a big bad tall blower intake sticking up above the hood, you don't even need the blower. And if you're willing to try things as outrageous as raising up the engine, etc., just put your efforts into a custom hood. Image a hood with a lowered overall line, but a raised scoop/intake coming up through the center. Heck, you might even get better visibility over the hood, except for that middle part...
