I'm trying to get a price range for a loaded F-550 which my grandparents will be ordering. They currently have 24K pound 5th wheel, towed short distances by a beefed up 1999 F-350. Yeah they know they're way overweight, hence the F-550.
We built a loaded crewcab Lariat, PSD automatic on the Ford Website for about $47,700 MSRP. Our local dealer quoted the truck for 43,100 before TTL. Does this seem reasonable? What would be the invoice on this truck? We're in California so we can't buy from Jeff, but possibly Bobby Williams in Fontana CA.
Also does anyone know if the F-550's are subject to any of the current production delays that the 250/350's have? If not, then what would be a reasonable order time? Thanks everyone!
The heavy-duty trailer-tow package is on hold until November 1st, that's about it. The price that dealer quoted is about $1000 over invoice, assuming they're not using the Commercial Connection rebate. If they are figuring that in, then they're at $2000 over invoice. As you know, you can buy it here for $500 BELOW invoice. I'd shop around some more.
Thanks Jeff! You're awesome. I'll have to check on the commercial connection rebate for them. They need that HD trailer tow package, so I guess they'll be waiting.
Yes that's a cab and chassis only. They want they Ford Lookalike Royal Truck Body. on FordVehicles, go under trucks to COMMERCIAL TRUCK. Click "Showroom" where you can choose F-550, and on the left you can "Build and Price". Post if you've got any problems.
