The other day I drove my 89 bronco 2 to work and came back out to start it but it wouldn't start. It just craked over. Anyone have any ideas? I doubt the spark plugs would cause this. My guess is the fuel pump. If you have any ideas let me know.
Thanks
My husband just went through this. There's a shrader valve by the fuel injection system (looks like a bicycle air valve), pull the cap, take a small screwdriver or toothpick and depress the shrader valve. If gas doesn't shoot out, it's your fuel pump. You have to turn the key on and then back off before you do this to make sure there's pressure. More than likely, as much as I hate to say it, it's probably your $130.00 fuel pump that's in the tank, and a pain in the butt to fix.
It might spew some gas, but if the pump isn't holding around 17 psi, it won't run. Good luck!! You'll need it. It's a long process to go thru. Email me if you need anymore help. It's in the Haynes manual, also. gabbygal7772@home.com. We'll be glad to try and help. Angel (and Shane)
