air leak?

air leak?

I have a 1991 ford ranger 3.0L v6. I was looking around my engine the other day and i saw on my air intake hose that there was a hole which looks like it was specifically designed for a hose. This "hole" is after the MAF sensor but before the intake manifold. What do i do?

On my 4.0 sohc, there is a tube that plugs in a little ways back from the MAF.

there is no tube just a spot where it looks like one belongs
