1979 CREW F-350 Dually...bed
Hey guys. I found a crew 1979 f-350 dually!!!!! In real good shape. All it has right now is a flat bed. Does anyone know if they had a bed originally? Or where they all faltbed then?
I know 1979 was the only year of a 350 dually so I am intersted to see it they had beds then.

79 Dually bed
Hey 74,
I made my 79 F-350 single rear wheel into a dually without using those expensive adapters for the wheels and those expensive aftermarket fenders.
I used a dually rear end out of a 79 1 ton cube van ($200 with all 4 rims and leafsprings) and moved the spring perches in a bit. Then I bought a set of fiberglass fenders off of a 87 Ford Stepside (60 bucks) and custom made the mounting brackets for them and formed (ground) the edges of the fenders to fit my body lines on the 79. It was a LOT of work, but well worth the effort. And I obviously repainted the truck.
My pictures of the truck on my profile didn't load very well so I will upload some new ones this weekend. Although I had about two weeks invested into the conversion, and another 2 weeks in the body and paint, it was well worth the effort and I am happy with the results, not to mention the money I saved. I wish you well on your project!
