please help

i have some questions about my old 1984 bronco 2 ....ok first off i'm hoping to be able to do some work on this for a gift for someone in short i need a turn signal switch ....(the actual stalk broke off but also the piece that it connects too inside the steering column is broken i think ...i don't know what this piece is called can you tell me?....also the emergency break has never really worked right ...ever time i tightented it, it would just loosen again so in order to keep the car from rolling i usually leave it in first except lately that doesn't keep it from rolling i'm not sure if it won't go in or if it is in but rolls anyway ...any ideas what could cause this? any and all help is appreciated thanks alot

please help

I had to rebuild a steering column in a 94 camaro. Different car, but same deal. If you don't have it, get the chiltons or haynes manual for the Bronco II. It'll go into detail about taking apart the column. Keep a pisece of paper and pen handy, draw out the position of everything! Also, rent the steering wheel puller from AutoZone, Pep Girls, Etc. I would get a steering column from a U-Pull-It yard, and scavenge that for the stalk, and signal switch. Hell of alot cheaper than dealer. Just start early so you don't lose light. Take your time, there are alot of things you can lose. As for the parking brake, you may just need new cables. Should'nt be too expensive. Hope that helps...
