hey guys i'm 17 and i just registered. well i'm looking for a winter truck because i want to put my car into storage for the winter snow in new jersey. i wanna get a f 150 i think thats high up with some big tires. sorta like the truck the rock had in the movie walking tall. maybe put a snow plow on it? anybody know wat year that truck was and about how much it would run me to get the a truck f 150 smallest bed don't need to be 4wd but would be nice and get some big tires on her?
thanks
With a f150 get a poly blade with the plow. A steel blade is heavy and is better fitted witha F250 & up. And yes Fordfanz is right. 4X4 or posi is needed to plow.
I believe the truck in walking tall was an F-250....it was really hard to tell. I was looking for 8 lug axles but I've only seen the movie once and couldn't figure it out.
Take a look at my truck, it's an F-150 lifted 6" with 35" tires (gallery).
If you wish to learn how to lift it, the suspension forum has 100s of threads on it...just do a search for "lift kit". Don't make a post "how do I lift my F-150" because they will beat you....jus kiddin'....welcome to the forums!
PS...get 4wd, you'll want it if you get a 2wd...trust me (again, look at my gallery..had a 2wd...now look at my new truck )
thanks i might add a plow thats just would be an after though not really sure.. i mean i wanna def put my car into storage just so i don't mess it up and i was thinking pick up would be niice and lift it so it looks mean yea i like that one you said to look at but don't want a long bed. Just a short bed and the regular cab and a lift kit. how much would that run me?
Welcome! I haven't seen the movie yet either but, can I recomend a truck for you. Get yourself a 70's f150 ( 78-9 are VERY ABUNDANT!) I've routinely seen them for around $1000. They are heavy and great for plowing, & many came with traclok in the rear. Best part... easy to work on, find parts for and afford. BONUS: they tend to sit high right outta the box! PS check out my 77 in my gallery.
