My parking brake on my 02 4.2L F150 doesn't hold my truck back at all, not even when I just let off the brake when in gear. Is there some kind of adjuster I can tighten? Think I need to take it to the dealership and let them see about it? I have it under warranty. Thanks
If its still under warranty just take it there and let them deal with it first instead of messing things up and then they won't fix it...something dumb they could do..
pal, I was making a bit of a joke there. If you must get technical about things...I was posting to see how to tighten the parking brake, not only for the present, but for the future also. Sorry for not spelling things out in the origional post, will be sure to for now on.
hey no both of ya HOMER!! what have we told you? and who let you out the kennel. Sorry about that....Man... haha I cant really help you out with how to fix your problem...only had problems with mine freezing in any weather below 32 degrees....my emerg brake will lock up all four tires.
sweet, u said you have been here how long?? Build up some respect around here before you start running your mouth
and if you don't like it here, then leave because no one else has problems with me here because I try to be friends with everyone instead of get into arguements by calling people immature and calling this an immature forum!
Homer, some might say the same of you? you do have a short temper and come off as rather abrasive, and I can see how it wold irritate people who care?
Secondly, everyone is new here at some point. And we need to continue to get new blood, there are a few of us 'older' guys that have left. I dont see Tom around any more...unless he has had a change of name? and I know even I dont post much in this forum, not cause I hate ya'll....I jsut dont.
Yea I understand...I think most around here know that I have a short temper (Garrett and Strick most likely) because we've hard little disputes in the past but we're like best of friends now.. I'm just trying to state that I don't want to argue with people around here (especially the newbs because we want them around) just like you said..
I've got q-logic kick panels in my f150 and they block the e-brake. For about 2 years now I've just been throwing into gear, and that does the trick. on HUGE hills, well i turn the wheel and lock it up against the curb. Haven't parked on a hill without curbs yet, but in that case i figure I'll just....i dunno most places have curbs and if not it's not a giant hill. But leaving it in gear holds it on my driveway every day!
It just sucks not being able to get out of my truck without shutting it off and throwing it in gear, unless i'm on perfectly flat ground or wedging it somewhere (the foot of my driveway)
Great thing is about forums, I need no respect to "run my mouth," second of all, I obviously didn't run my mouth, look, you came across as a real **** to me, guess thats over now though, I forgive you. btw, you're rather sarcastic advice ain't warranty covered, so it wasn't useful. Thanks to the other people with advice. I won't be leaving this forum until I want to, so you can leave if you really feel you need to, which you sure welcomed me to leave, so I welcome you.
Parking break Smarking break who give a flying fig? Geez if its not covered under warranty then its not covered under warranty. No need to start a hissy fit and give forgiveness, then turn around and spite homer by saying since it wasn't under warranty then his advice wasn't useful. If you checked the warranty coverage, then you USED his advice. Now if he said to stick your thumb up your urethra, and you DID NOT, then that is advice that isn't useful.
No, Mr. Man, I am not exploding like you may think I am, I just feel that you instigate a lot of friction on this forum and when it is pointed out, you become extremely defensive.
