Paint
Paint
Ok I just got done sanding and primering my B2 I used the Rustoleum primer I'm still thinking about painting the truck another color but I really like the primer grey look just looks pretty cool! Do I need to paint over the primer with a primer grey paint or will the Rustoleum keep the truck free from rust?
Depends on the paint you are using. Some paints require their own brand's primer because some other primers chemicals don't mix well with the paints, and then they both end up falling off. I would use a paint primer like, Dupli-color. I believe you could use any paint to lay on top of that primer, but other primer's don't work with the Dupli-color paint. Are you doing this with Aerosol or using a paint gun? If you use the paint-gun the results are going to turn out much more to your liking. If this is a strictly off road truck and you simply don't care, use aerosol, but if you want to be seen in town, without people laughing, I would gun it. Personal oppinion.
I talked to a guy I work with and he used the Rustoleum paint on the rustoleum primer and it looks nice. I don't really have to worry about people laughing at me for the paint job I live in Missouri and there are a lot of country people where I live so Spray Paint would be high class for this area but yes it's going to be an off road truck.
I understand what you're talking about, if thats the case and you want some color, then go for it. Just so it dosn't look to choppy, use long even strokes in a sweeping motion, it should turn out a lot better.
