Integrated Brake Controller (IBC) - Problems??

Cool Integrated Brake Controller (IBC) - Problems??

I have an '05 F350 on order and up to now have been really looking forward to using it to tow my 37'fiver....Am reading quite a bit on other site about the new IBC and the fact that the the "manual"control lever does not seem to hold the trailer brakes on when the truck is not moving,,,, this is totally unacceptable as by law, anyone towing (at least around here) must first perform the hookup test to ensure that the trailer is 100% hitched to the truck.... Since I won't get my truck for a few more weeks --- can you tell me if what I'm hearing is correct and if so, is FORD going to fix this apparent shortsightedness???????

Have not rehooked to my trailer since I saw that thread. I do conventional tow so after I hooked up first time I was moving slowly down the driveway when I first activated the manual lever. Trailer brakes alone locked and stopped my truck. This is a fairly good down hill drive way 500 feet long and I controlled the truck trailer combo with just the manual lever a couple of times. Out on the street I ran through the gain setting instructions and then out for the test run on the highway and through town. Worked perfectly. I do admit that I never locked the trailer and tried to drive away from it from a stop. I will have to try that next time. I understand your concern and trust there will be a firmware fix if it truns out to be as the other thread says.

Yeh, I'm hoping that what I have heard is NOT the case ----sure hope that others towing fivers will have had a chance to "check this out" and let us all know...
