I just had my Daystar kit installed. 4Wheel parts mentioned that I needed to check torque settings after a few miles. Have you done this and have you needed to make adjustments?
I installed the kit on a Saturday night and Sunday morning. This meant that I did not have a chance to get it aligned until Monday. Sunday afternoon I put about 80 miles on the truck. When I had it aligned I asked them to check all of the bolts and make sure they were tightened to specs. The guy that did the alignment did not say anything about any bolts being loose. This is the same guy that did my wife's Windstar after Ford replace all of the ball joints under warranty. When he did that he was the first to let me know that Ford left everything loose. I think he likes to tell people what HE found so I am sure he would have let me know about my truck.
According to the tech at NTB all of mine were tight. The only bolts you have to losen are the ball joint, steering arm, lower strut bolt, and 3 bolts at the top of the strut. There is no need to losen the control arm bolts.
After 200 miles the bolts at the top of the strut were loose. I believe it may be due to the settling of the spacer that goes between the strut and the body. I will check again in a week or two to see if they are loose again.
I paid 119.95 from Jack-it accessories. It took a while to get it since they did not have the red ones in stock. I did the install myself so I don't know what the labor costs.
Great Info And Great Pics. I Am Going To Purchase A Revtek Lift Today And Add 33x12.50r17 On My Screw.(i Think I Am Any Way) I Will Be Doing The Install Myself And Will Let Y'all Know How It Goes When I Am Finished. I Will Also Include Some Pics If I Can Figure Out How. Everyone Knows How Dumb We Rednecks Are.
The pics are not too hard to upload. Make sure you use a digital camera. It makes it easier. I figured it out and I am a bit of a redneck myself (Cypress, TX). Good luck with your install. Can't wait to see the pics.
