Good info, Hockey - thanks for sharing!

I just had my Daystar kit installed. 4Wheel parts mentioned that I needed to check torque settings after a few miles. Have you done this and have you needed to make adjustments?

I installed the kit on a Saturday night and Sunday morning. This meant that I did not have a chance to get it aligned until Monday. Sunday afternoon I put about 80 miles on the truck. When I had it aligned I asked them to check all of the bolts and make sure they were tightened to specs. The guy that did the alignment did not say anything about any bolts being loose. This is the same guy that did my wife's Windstar after Ford replace all of the ball joints under warranty. When he did that he was the first to let me know that Ford left everything loose. I think he likes to tell people what HE found so I am sure he would have let me know about my truck.

According to the tech at NTB all of mine were tight. The only bolts you have to losen are the ball joint, steering arm, lower strut bolt, and 3 bolts at the top of the strut. There is no need to losen the control arm bolts.

The NTB guy may be good but I don't think he checked those. I'll check them this weekend and let you know if mine are loose.

After 200 miles the bolts at the top of the strut were loose. I believe it may be due to the settling of the spacer that goes between the strut and the body. I will check again in a week or two to see if they are loose again.

Can anyone give a ballpark estimate for how much the Daystar Front End Leveling Kit comes to w/ parts and labor?

I paid 119.95 from Jack-it accessories. It took a while to get it since they did not have the red ones in stock. I did the install myself so I don't know what the labor costs.

The pics are not too hard to upload. Make sure you use a digital camera. It makes it easier. I figured it out and I am a bit of a redneck myself (Cypress, TX). Good luck with your install. Can't wait to see the pics.

Pics Are Here. Lift Was A Piece Of Cake. I Am A Little Disappointed In The Fact That I Did Not Get A Full 2" Of Lift. Word To The Wise,if Anyone Is Going To Do A Self Install Make Sure You Have Access To A Wall Mount Strut Compressor. I Have A Friend That's A Snap-on Rep And He Loaned Be A Manual Model, I Got The Fisrt One Appart But Could Not Get It Back Together, Went To A Friend's Shop And His Wall Mount Was The Answer.
