Just got a check engine light last night. I need to know where i can get the codes pulled for free. But in the mean time i would like to know if there is anything that i could do to fix it. (checking fluids etc.)
Oh, also, yesterday while i was painting my bumper, i occasionally started it up and moved it and after shutting off the engine i could hear a noise and it sounded like something was draining, and it would stop after like 10 seconds. And this was before i took it on I-95 (when i got the check engine light). But now i cannot hear the noise anymore.
Most local parts stores will pull codes for you for free. The draining sound was maybe oil draining back in the pan. If there aren't any fluids leaking out anywhere I wouldn't worry much about it.
