1st When I turn on my AC it works fine but when I accelerate it automatically switches the air from the vents to the defrost. It does it also when its just the fan blowing. If I keep the fan on a low cool setting with low fan its ok but when I try to turn it up it wont stay there it jumps to defrost.
2nd thing is I put 265/75 tires on my truck. I knew speedo would be off but didnt expect it to be that far off. Last night I drove from Stowe VT to Mystic CT (about 260 miles) with my cruise control on 70 mph and it seems I averaged around 80 MPH does this seem right? I was home in 3 hrs 20 minutes. There was no traffic and I didnt have to stop and hardly had to slow down for anyone. It was a rare enjoyable road trip.
MRDSL, check out the post on repairing a vacuum leak just below this one. That is the fisrt thing I thought of. Vaccum controls that door and with a loss of vacuum, it will default to the defroster position, so you'll have at least that. ON your second problem, the larger tires are acting like adding overdrive. Your speedo will read the same, but you are going faster. You'll need to change the speedo gear in the trans. or buy a programmer and change it electronically.
