Sweet spot

hey yall, I think I found the sweet spot for gas mileage in my 04. I have an 04 reg. cab 4x4 with a 4.6, auto, flareside bed w/3.55 rear end and I was originally getting 16-17 mpg and now I'm up around 19 to 21. If I keep it at 55-60 on the highway I can do this, but it feels like you're barely moving. I had to do some running to get supplies this weekend and I wasn't in a hurry to get to where I was going so I stayed close to 55-60. I filled up twice and got 19.5 and then 20.8, aweful happy about it too. Of course our high temps have been in the 50's, I don't know if that would actually make a difference.
I also properly broke in the truck this weekend. My shiny black F-150 now has a small scratch on the rear fender and I got a speedin gticket yesterday morning. What's funny is that I had had my cruise set at 55 for about 40 miles and then clicked it off in some steep hills because it was in and out of OD so much. Anyway I was coasting down the hills and it would pretty much get me to the top of the next one, I was at the bottom of a hill and a state trooper was at teh top in front of me and got me at just under 70 in a 55. When he pulled me over and came up to the truck he said good morning and my respone was "it was till I saw you!" He laughed, I didn't. He gave me a ticket and was explaining I could fight thsi and bla bla bla, I then told him my brother in law is the State's Attorney for that county, I doubt I'll have a problem. Then I laughed. All in all it's been an alright weekend.
