Body Swap

I need help with a couple of questions.
I have an 86 ford f150 4x4. I just bought an 81 ford f150 2wd. I want to put the 82 body on the 86 chassis.
Is it a direct bolt on?
Also the body mount brackets on the 86 are bad (rusted out) will the ones of the 81 work on the 86?

Any truck body from 80-86 will bolt right on. If you find and use the bed, cab, fenders and core support from an 87-96, it will fit too.

The only difference, if any, will be in the cab. What engine does your 86 have in it. If your 86 has an EFI I6 or EFI 302, the holes for the wires will be in different locations and there will be more of them. Also, you will need to use the entire wiring harness out of the 86 cab in your 82 cab. I know this because I swapped an 86 EFI 302 into a 1980 stepside and i had to swap out the entire wiring harness to make it work. Got er done though, pics in my gallary.
