Question Cool Air Question

I had a thread out a while ago about putting a cool air intake on my 94 ranger 4L. I was pretty much convinced that they were NOT the way to go. But I'm not done researching. I went to a performance shop to look into one and they said they would only reccomend a foam filter in my stock intake because a cool air would make my engine run too lean. Is that true? Also, What are some of the opinions of some of the guys out there that have a cool air on a similar truck? How are they performing?

What about his foam filter? any good? sorry about the massive amounts of questions.

A foam filter is what you use in lawn mowers. Stick with oiled cotten gauze or paper for your truck. As far as too lean, I haven't noticed a problem yet with my 4 banger.

They won't make it run lean, you have an air temperature sensor in the intake that the computer using to help keep the stoichiometry correct.
