I think he meant that more Ford trucks are sold in Texas than any other state, and that is correct. The dealer that sells the most Ford trucks is in the Dallas area.

Ford sells a ton of trucks in Michigan. Especially in the metro Detroit area. The majority of North American Ford employees are located in the area (I am a millwright at the Ford Research & Engineering Center). That's a lot of Ford vehicles when you consider that we get a total of 8 friends and family discounts (A & X plans) per model year. All of my relatives drive Ford products. Almost all of them own a late model F series truck. The F series 4x4 sells extremely well due to our year-round outdoor recreation (snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and boating). I would be surprised if Michigan isn't the #1 state in F150 sales.
you gotta remember Ford aint the only people in town there.
I agree. I would make the same prediction with Dodge and Chevy too. Detroit is the Motor City. The big three is based here. Hey, they sell a lot of Chevy and Dodge trucks in Texas too. It's all relative.
I think if you look Ford sells alot of trucks in any agriculteral based state, there are alot of trucks here in Iowa too (of all makes), but in Texas they sell alot of trucks because that is the image that they have to keep up, less than 15% of the people in Texas are actually involved in ag, yet I here that something like 90% percent of the people in that state own atleast 1 truck, and a rough guess is that less than 25% of those have ever actually even seen a gravel road.
absolutely right, the number of us that actually USE our trucks for the intended purpose or even offroading.... is quite low. the majority of the people in this state buy a truck for image or going to the grocery store. however if you see a superduty it generally is used for its purpose, construction, farm work, towing, but i dont think ive ever seen a working F-150, unless its old.
