I recently bought a used F250 7.3L 4x4. No jack, no spare tire. I'm not even sure there's a place underneath to put a spare, because the truck has two fuel tanks. And I'd rather mount a spare in the bed of the truck anyway, since that's a lot easier to deal with.
Any recommendations on a stock kit to mount in the bed that has reasonable theft protection? And will any heavy-duty jack be okay?
And the prize stupid question: Are the front and rear wheels interchangeable on a 4x4? The hubs on the rear wheels look bigger than the front ones. (I have an old Toyota truck with dualies in the back, and the spare on that truck will only work on the front tires.)
How old is your truck. If it is the older body style (Pre 1997) It came stock with 2 fuel tanks and the spare fits underneath with no problem, besides being a PIA to get to.
Yes the front and rear will interchange . As for mounting in the bed , there are a couple of options , you can get one that mounts on the inside wall of the bed or the pre-runner style that mounts to the bed floor .
