supercharger on a 93 bronco

I've done a lot of turbocharging (and a little supercharging) in the past, and I find it much easier to retune the vehicle for the additional air/fuel needs if the engine is fresh and has no blow-by. If you're engine does well in a dry/wet compression test, by all means go for it, however if there is anything wrong, supercharging will often aggrevate the situation, and of course you'll be looking at your supercharger kit, swearing, and kicking your truck trying to figure out what's wrong with the supercharger, when the problem might be with the engine itself.
But as long as you have good compression, and there's no gas or water in the oil, by all means, go for it.

I agree ^^^
I am working on my third supercharged setup.....this stuff is addictive!!!
One thing I can think of is that the stock head gaskets are sensitive to excessive timing and too much boost. If your boost level is reasonable and your tune is good then you will enjoy a supercharger for many miles.

Excellent advise frederic...(been following your tt stroker build, very sweet!!). I would just like to add that you would probably be dissatisfied with a centrifugal type blower (Paxton, Vortech, Powerdyne) on a Bronco because of how they create boost based on RPM. For a heavy vehicle positive displacement blowers make alot more sense, increasing torque at much lower engine speeds. But, keep in mind that turbocharging requires about the same investment as supercharging with greater returns in performance. Also, has your Bronco ever overheated? If so, check the block decks and heads for straightness. Even at lower boost levels any warpage could quickly result in blown head gaskets. I say "Boost that Bronco".......
