Red face Which programmer with 6 speed manual?

I have been reading through all the threads on tuners, and I haven't really seen anything on which one would be best for use with the 6 speed manual. I know this could open up another can, just curious as to any opinions with regard to use with the manual tranny. Thanks!

If you want maximum power, go with a fuel box. The main problem with most of the "boxes" is that the shifting is crap because it does not alter the torque tables that the automatic transmission uses for shifting; resulting in inconsistant, soft shifts. You will not have that problem.

I STRONGLY recommend a look at the Edge Juice/ Attitude combo. It makes more power than either of the tuners and is integrated with gauges.

Thanks for the replies. I was already leaning toward the Edge Juice w/ attitude. I like the idea that the gauges are already part of the programmer. I was just wondering if there was a difference in any of them for the manual tranny. The only downfall with the Edge is that I didn't see where Motorhaven offered it. You know, I would like to help support this site

Call them; I am pretty certain that Ken has mentioned the fact that they either now stock them or will in the near future.

Feel free to email me if you decide to get it and have any questions

I've had alot of driving time behing the wheel of several 6.0s with 6-speeds and the one thing i have noticed is the lack of torque you get before the turbo spools(idle to approx. 1700rpm). i know a guy who has the edge/attitude and he claims this greatly helped his "preturbospool"(how do ya like that word)torque. i've also got a buddy with an 04 6.0 6-speed with the diablo and i have drove his many times also. even on 100hp setting it doesn't make much torque until the turbo spools and the boost comes up, about 1700rpm. once it does hold on. that truck is like a rocket once it hits.

my question is do some tuners/programmers help preturbospool torque and others don't or what. please enlighten me.

my V-10 feels much stronger than these 6-speed equipped psd's from idle to 1700 in any gear. once the boost comes up though i can't compete. add a tuner/programmer and i'm all done.

Makes complete sence to me, go with a tuner!

Bushwacker,

I have a 04 6.0L with a 6-speed manual. I installed the banks six gun with speed loader and love it. I almost bought an edge with attitude but I had a friend buy a banks and that's what hooked me. The edge I believe hooks up almost the same, and i have heard that they are under rated and will out perfrom the banks with the speedloader. I don't know if this is true or not maybe Tim might know. Anyway I think you will like either one. The banks has 6 settings and on 4, 5, or 6, is when you lose your turbo lag and it feels like a gas motor.

That one I am not sure of, not many have the Banks system, not a bad tuner just a bit pricy
