Hi,
I own 2003 Explorer Ltd c/w 4.6 v8. When I start out after the vehicle has been sitting, like over,it starts out in the low gear and for a little ways it is reluctant to upshift. The engine roars when you are accelerating and then in a block or so it upshifts and away it goes. Nothing else seems indicate that anything is not functioning properly. I wonder if this is normal and it to warm up the transmission? Maybe it is designed to do that. Has anyone ran into this?
