odometer reading
Just wondering-- I blew a fuse on my power windows on my '04 6.0... This fuse controls the radio, windows, and the cluster in the dash. This includes the odometer. When the fuse blew the odometer stopped even though I drove to the dealership to have the problem fixed.. Is all it takes to stop the odometer is to pull the fuse? or does the computer keep track? Makes me think twice about buying a used vehicle... Any answers???

IMO someone would want to cheat the system pretty bad to drive a $ 40,000 + truck without radio, windows, cluster etc...for enough miles to make a difference.
But as we all know some people will go to great lengths to rip someone off even for minimal effect. Sacrifice the rest of their life for a few $$$.

Want to cheat the odometer?? Buy a superchip programmer, set the tire size and the gear ratio the right way. Presto 20 mph on the highway. You only register a third of the miles. Makes me leary of buying a used modified vehicle.
