Couldn't Resist

Went down to the Ford dealer and bought an 04 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 xlt. I could not pass up the good deals any longer. What a difference between my V-10 Excursion. I should have gone with the diesel to begin with.

The only negative thing is when I got in it this morning and turned the air on it will only blow out of the defrost. No other settings work. I am not to happy about this. I hope it is not a sign of things to come!

I know it's not the right answer but, give your defrost/a/c controls time to break in. Mine did the same thing for about a week. Leave it on for a while and it "should" switch from defrost to a/c.

Ford does have a fix for this...sorry, I just can't find it right now but your dealer should have knowledge of it.

Good luck and safe trucking.

I don't think you should worry too much about a simple motorized damper for the HVAC unit. It could be as simple as a blown or missing fuse. Otherwise, they just have to switch out the motor. I would strongly advise, however, that you begin to keep complete records of all items you have done to the truck (service records, mods, etc.).

Cheers!

bad vaccuum pump

Welcome to the forum. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. After a few days it became intermitant(sp). The dealer had it fixed in one day; it was a bad vaccuum pump; fairly common problem, easy fix. Other than that the truck runs great. Enjoy!

Congrats on the new rig- Mine had the same symptom which turned out to be a loose control ****. It took the dealer a whopping 20 minutes to fix- Mostly in processing the vehicle in & out. 39,012 miles and thrilled with the 6.0

Its tough driving around town with a Kool-Aid smile right? I know the feeling.

My A/C does the same thing every now and then. I just turn it off then back on and it will work correctly.
Now enjoy the beast.

Thanks for all the replies. I took a look at it and it turned out to be a blown fuse. At the Ford Dealer they have a security feature that will not allow the truck to crank. When the man was disabling it in the fuse panel I think he must of done something to make it blow.

Any ways, got 110 miles on the new 6.0 and like todder says, I cant keep the kool-aid smile off my face!
