Probably should contact one of the cam mfg's you are considering and ask that question. Tried doing some cam research and found most people either didn't know much or were afraid to say.
The cam you choose will have to be able to produce enough to keep the PCM from going nuts and your motor from running rough. I don't think you can use any of the Ford Racing or Trick Flow Track Heat cams because the lobe separation is less than 114*. Crane and Comp cams (and a couple of others) have a few cam selections that are SD "friendly". From there, your only other choice is a custom grind. If that still doesn't appeal to you then convert your truck over to Mass Air and run whatever cam you want.
IMO.. if you're gonna cam it up , you won't be satisfied with what you can do thanx to speed density. A mass air conversion sounds scary, but it's worth it if you want to modify. "cause then you'll want a bigger T/B, and maybe some head work and so on.... Ford motor sport has a conversion kit that is direct plug to plug, and I'd bet some others do, too.
SDS Injection Makes A complete stand alone system that allows you to adjust for any changes. Mass Air is a very large improvment over Speed Density, but still has limitations.
