I have friend who is selling his 88 bronco2 rebuilt eng
selling for $1800. He has a new dodge truck he said
the eng has 70,000 on it and aircondition works and the
trans is in good shape.I have been saving for a f150 but as far
as i can see this looks like a good deal for the b2 88 for 1,800
Do i go for the f150 or the bronco2 88 oh ya b2 has 4x4 5speed
hub lock
just driven the b2 88 today found out it will need new
muffler and pips rusted out. Does not look like it was
off road. i will be the third owner if i get the b2
If i get the b288 will she nickel to death or is it worth
my time and money. Im not rich but is the f150 better choice
this is a big deal for me thanks keep trucking
nobody can say if it will nickle you to death, thats the chance you take when buying a used vehicle. it may be the best truck youve ever driven or it may be the worse, then again same can be said for the f150. if i were you id take the time to search through past posts about typical b2 problems and what people have done and spent to correct them and do the same for the f150, then have both vehicles checked out by an authorized garage, at least you know basically where you stand. the rest is all buyer preference. sorry i cant wave a magic wand and say for sure you will have good luck but i hope this helps
I own an 89 F150 extended cab, 6" suspension lift with 33" tires and a rear locking diff. Also own an 89 Bronco 2 that is "stock" except for larger 235/75/15 tires. Both are excellent vehicles. The F150 is awesome in deep snow and offroad as long as it will fit where you want to go. It is harder to maneuver in the woods due to it's size. The Bronco 2 is good in snow but not as directionally stable in deep snow as the F150. In the woods it is much easier to navigate due to its small size and short wheel base. It also has good ground clearance which is magnified by the short wheel base when cresting hills, it has surprised me many times by not getting stuck. Hope this helps.
