I have been looking at the PSD SD for myself and a new Expedition for the wife. I am in NW LA and see where the Dallas area dealers are offering $12K off MSRP on the remaining '04 in stock. This includes all rebates and pkg discounts but not the financing bonus $. From looking at info I have this is well below invoice. Are these deals better than X-Plan pricing and FTE offer from VBF? Backing the rebates out of the SD (4x4, PSD, CC, Lar, $45K) that is like a$9 discount from the dealer. Jeff, does this sound right? Wonder if I can get the 0% with that $9K discount? Sound off with your thoughts...

PS, Jeff what kind of deal can I get on the H-D SD that shows up in your inventory? PM back details...
A tough question without seeing the actual ads, but I'll guess it says "UP TO" $12000 off MSRP. Which means there's one truck with that much discount, the 350 Supercab longbox 5.4 stick-shift XL in municipal green with no A/C that's been sitting in the back of the lot since August of '03. Hey, if that's the truck you're looking for, then it's a hell of a buy. As for that applying to the model you mention ("..4x4, PSD, CC, Lar, $45K.."), if you can get that for $12K off sticker, BUY IT. That truck is now non-existent in my neck of the woods, and it's just hard for me to believe that a traditional negotiating dealer would give away a prime piece of merchandise like that, '04 or not.
This all comes down to 2 different ways of doing business. The typical dealer that's offering "the sale of the century" on leftover merchandise, vs. a simple below-invoice price on EVERY vehicle we offer. I'm not necessarily saying that one's better than the other; it's still 2 different approaches to selling trucks, and it comes down to what works for you. As for us, it's $500 below invoice on EVERY Super-Duty, in-stock '04s, and ordered or in-stock '05s.
