Has any body tested their ABS? I have, and it would appear that it is not working. No warning light or anything, it just behaves as if there was no ABS at all. Isn't the brake pedal supposed to pulsate?
Our ABS works on the dirt and stuff, but on pavement it is not awe-inspiring. Once there was emergency vehicles coming at me and I slamed on the brakes to get over and the drivers side rear wheel completely locked up. My friend was driving it once and was behind a car that almost rear ended another car, so he slamed on the brakes and said that the rear wheels locked up and the car fish tailed. The ABS system on the Expedition doesnt seem that great. Compared to the ABS on the Taurus I have, the Taurus is impossible to lock up the brakes. It's weird.
O.K. Thanks guys for your answers. It will require more testing. It hardly ever rains out here in San Diego so I'll have to wet the street down with the garden hose!
I've had to use mine twice. Both times I really needed them so I can't tell you for sure if the pedal pulsated or not. I can tell you they worked great. The whole truck pulsates. I know 1 out of the 2 saved me body damage and probaly the other time also. I had ABS on my last vehicle so I knew kind of what to expect. I will say it seems to work better with the Expy, I guess just the added weight. Anyway they worked great!
