Looking for the right area to post this; since it is a turbo diesel this looked like the place. Definitely off topic from engine discussion for the most part. 1)
Bringing the truck in for Line X treatment this morning; any cons? 2) Also considering a shell for the bed; any recommendations? 3) Finally any ways to improve milage (MPG)? Currently seeing about 12 mpg around town.
First time posting here; thanks for entertaining my questions. Just got the truck on Friday; it is a 2004 F250 Harley Davidson edition.

I went with Line-X on my 2002 7.3 and then I traded it in to get a new 2003 6.0 when they came out. I went with Line-X on this one too. It is really awesome. Just one piece of advice. Make sure they remove all exposed bed bolts BEFORE!!! they spray. If your bolts are sprayed over the only way to get your bed off would be to grind through the head of the bolt. This stuff DOES NOT! come off. Funny story, I watched my neighbor try and remove his bed bolts after he had his liner sprayed in.. wow that was a hillarious sight.
Best of Luck,
Corey
P.S. I was around 13mpg in my F-350 6.0 until I got passed 1000 miles, I'm currently just under 18k miles and I average 16 in the city and 21.5 on the highway. Also please remember I have an 8" lift an 38" tires. So I am definately not seeing full potential. My pop gets about 23 highway and 16 city on his 04' F-350 6.0. His is stock..
Hard to hurt anything by putting a polyurethane bedliner or cover on your truck. Line X is a good brand. Quality of course is strictly dependent upon the person providing the application.
We would all like better fuel MPG but that is not why I purchased my BEAST.
Currently @ 11,000 miles. Started @ 12.5 MPG. Now it seems that I am at 14.25 MPG. But, add PowerService fuel additive with every fuel up but not for mileage issues. Went to syn oil @ 10,000 miles, just because I wanted to.
Added Predator @ around 4,500 miles. Reported MPG gains with Predator have been 1.5 - 2.5 MPG. My MPG actually went down however, directly in proportion with my foot pressing down futher on the go fast pedal.

Have fun and safe trucking.
OOOO yah I should have probably added that at 5000 miles, which was my second oil change, I had the break-in oil change at 1000 miles just to get all the metal out, I went with Mobil Delvac 1 5w-40, I got an instant mpg increase of almost 1.5mpg.
Line-X is the only way to go. Two friends of mine have Rhino Liner and they both have had to have tears repaired. I've had Line-X in two trucks now and have not had one problem-I even spilled battery acid on one of them. Rhino Liner seems to be thicker, but softer.
The Line-x tech said he takes off all the bolts and tie-downs, etc. before spraying. Should be ready for pick-up in another hour and 20 minutes (no pun intended). Thanks for the inputs. Should there be a Heavy Duty Harley sub group, also? Or are we grouped with the F150 Lightnings?

If you got the 6.0, you belong here, also since the 6.0's are F-350 & F-250 SD's only, then we are also found in the Super Duty forum, just depends apon what part of the truck is being dicussed.
