5.4L stalls at start

Hey great site here. I have a 2001 F250 Sduty that stalls at idle. You need two feet to keep it running at start in the morning. It does not happen every morning. Does not have to be cold. The engine can been warm and it can happen. Almost got stuck on vacation a couple of weeks ago. No engine lightsand only 49,700 miles (300 away from ext. war. expiring) Anyone have any ideas.

Could be a dirty MAF or IAC. Try cleaning both.

Thanks for a quick reply. The MAF and IAC are primary suspects in my problem. Is cleaning better then replacing . I am pretty good with a wrench. If cleaning? How? With brake clean? Air dry or air hose?

The IAC can be cleaned with brake cleaner. Spray it and use a small screwdriver or pick to move the piston/punger a little.

The wire in the MAF can be cleand with brake clean and a q-tip carefully.
