I want to buy a roll top cover for my 4x4 but am wondering from anyone who has them if they compromise the quiet ride with rattle and vibrations. Also wondering if anyone has experience with the truck bed rugs. They look like a nice options but I was wondering if they fit and are woth the cost. I got a qoute for $425 for by short bed flairside.
I bought the Retrax for both my 2002 and 2004 S-crews. You can buy it straight from the factory and the install was a BREEZE! You can read all about them at www.rolltopcover.com
It's a well built, well engineered product that operates smooth as glass and cleans up really well.
I first learned about them from reading a discussion here about different roll-top covers. Retrax's sales manager, Randy, posted to the group that if you mentioned you were a FTE user that he would give you a discount. I bought the one for my '04 S-crew for $800.00 plus shipping.
I had a Pace-Edwards on my Superduty and liked it. Can't decide what to do on my new screw. Probably end up with a tool box.
As for the bed rugs, Ford has come out with a kickass bed rug. It is oil, gas, thinner, etc. repellent. (So they say, it won't effect it) Washes out with a garden hose or vacuums out, also they say it won't mildew etc. We ordered a couple to see how good they are.

I have a RollnLock cover. I love it. It does rattle a bit @ highway speeds, but I cannot notice unless my rear window is open. I think it gives you alot more versatility than the fiberglass covers.
