best muffler

does anyone know if a cherry bomb muffler would sound good i found one and couldn't pass on the price 5.00 so i got it.just let me know before i install it it is going on a 410 mercury in a 75 ford truck

Isn't the Cherry Bomb just a short glasspack? If so, it's not going to muffle much. Won't hurt anything either. Sounding good is subjective.

Cherry bombs come in different lengths, the shorter the louder.

I enjoy my dual glasspacks, other people may not though, you could always just put them in place with a pipe clamp to see how it sounds, that way it will give you an idea then if you dont like it you can take them off easily.

A ton of people on the FE forum run the flowmaster 40 series muffs. I am running dual glasspacks too, i guess there not the best but there fine for me!

I do by the way have exhaust cutouts. Ill open it up if theres a lot of rice bunrers trying to show off. I think it scares em away.

It depends on how loud you like it, 40's sound good dont get me wrong, but I love the cackle of packs.

Run a good muffler.....Hooker Max Flows..they flow 595cfm..the same as 2 1/2" straight pipe!!

FE's and glasspacks have always been a good combo. The cool thing about them is the older they get, the better they sound. Brings back a lot of memories of riding in the back of Dad's truck.
I presonally don't like the sound of Flowmasters--a little too artificial sounding. Glasspacks sound like straight pipes only quieter.
