i am starting a 64 f-100 project so i will have a lot of questions as this thing takes off. first off the truck has a 351 m moter and a c6 tranny. all of this is not yet confermed. my first question is. did the moter and tranny just bolted in or was ther modifications? if it was modified what should i double check to make sure everthing will be fine down the road? is ther anything i shoild do to beef up the frame or support the moter or tranny? i plan to take it down to the frame and while i am there i want to take care of any work that needs to be done.
The 351m and C6 was not a combo offered in your truck from the factory. I do not believe they were available as a combo until mid-70.... If you would post the VIN numbers from the driver door plate or the top of the front frame rail, we can assist in telling what there was to start with.
The 64 will be more challenging than a 65 or later, but plenty of folks here have experience with them and can help out 9better than I).
thanks mike. the previous owner (my brother in law) told me he got the motor and trans. out of a t-bird. but it sounds like they probably were together and installed at the same time. i wounder if i need to beef anything up while it is all apart? thanks for your reply and i will get more info when i can.

As Mike said that motor/transmission combo was nat available in 64 so there's been some mods done. Me and lots of the guys on the board have swapped in differant power plants. IMO the the truck can handle a stock 351M with no trouble. Got some pics of my mods in my gallery.
Good luck with your project and keep us posted
