alarm/remote start problems

have a 2000 explorer 4 dr that has the factory remote starter installed. i am experienceing some weird things with the alarm/remote start system and wondering if anyone could help me figure them out. the remote says CodeAlarm on it and it is a 4 button remote.

1. when i arm the system with the remote, there is no horn signal to indicate i did so, but it does flash its parking lights twice. i also cant get the alarm to go off by opening the doors or anything.<O

2. when i disarm/unlock the system with the remote, none of the interror lights come on, but when i disarm/unlock the system with the factory keypad on the door, the interror lights come on.<O

3. with the remote starter, can start it and it runs great, but again the interror lights do not come on.<O

4. when i press the panic/find button on the remote, the lights just flash and there is no horn siganling.<O

5. and lastly, i was wondering if there is any way to make it so the alarm does not arm its self after 30 seconds, its pretty anoying.<O

Short Story...

The aftermarket alarm on my work truck was flashing a fault code #4. I didn't have time to take it in to be checked. Shortly afterwards, the alternator quit. I disconnected both batteries while changing the alt. When I re-connected the batteries, the fault code for the alarm did not return.
Check the owners manual to find the fuses/relays for the alarm/remote start. Pull them out for about 20 minutes, then see what happens when you put them back.
Plan "B" would be to take it to the dealer of course.
