blown fuse
03X. 6.0. When I shift from reverse to drive fuse #45 blowes. This one controls the gauges only. Everything else works fine. Need advice. Also let me say that this is a great site with lots of helpful input.

same truck - not even close to those symptoms - so I'll be little help...
but sounds like something may have changed on it...
first questions to ask...
when did this start ?
and what was chaned just before that?
I've usually found a cause and effect to something I just "fixed" or "improved"
I have that Tim Allen syndrome where I cant leave well enough alone

blown fuse
it started about a week ago. I have made no changes. Started up the motor and noticed the gauges where not working. I put in a new fuse and it lasted about two days and blew again. It does not happen all the time just after I have run it for a little while, sometimes the next day. I talked with the dealer and was told to replace the fuse, but several fuses later and can't find the problem, I'm alittle worried.

You might try to get your hands on a wiring diagram and see what else is on that fuse because I doubt it is only for the gauges. You obviously have a short in the system somewhere, if it is blowing it that often it should be easier to find.
