ignition problem
I have a 1985 Ranger 2.8l 2 bbl stock. started to lose power and run rough under load. idle ok. starts right up.
1. changed plugs that were in bad shape from 15 K miles 18 months Ap765 to Ap765 autolite single plat, runs 300 feet and dies.
no spark, no dwell, 12 volts to coil
2. changed ignition module and coil. starts and runs just as bad as before under load, smooth idle
could this be the pickup any ideas? thanks

not yet. i will. i know it could be a compression problem, but when it quit the spark induction tach registered 0 rpm while cranking and the dwell stayed on 60. after the new module it started so jarring the pickup could have made it work poorly instead of not at all.

I checked the compression. 180 lbs per cylinder. lowest about 165.
error codes are 63 87 63 87 blink blink 84 blink 54 63 84 blink 54 63 do these look correct.
63 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal too low TPS
bad tps or wiring ?
87 Vehicles with 2BBL carb - Temperature Compensated Accelerator Pump Solenoid - Solenoids
how can I check this or just check wiring and replace?
84 EGR Vacuum Regulator - Solenoids
EGR cutoff solenoid - Solenoids
EGR Vent solenoid - Solenoids
54 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) or Vane Air Temperature (VAT) signal high - IAT VAT
