Charging question

I drove my Bronco today and the ALT light started coming on at idle,my Auto meter gauge showed less that 12 volts. So I changed the alternator, now the Alt light stay's on all the time and I'm charging 14.24 volt's.My light's are not flickering any more at idle either. What's the deal with the light?

make sure you have a good connection at the alternator and you might test your battery. If the alt wasn't charging the battery properly and it was a little weak then it may not be taking a good charge. Also, if it has a ecm I assume you unhooked the battery while changing the alt and the computer cleared the codes. Just a couple of thoughts.
