Cleaning intake

I have some used intakes and such I am going to be working with that have 100k or whatever mileage and are nice and dirty. What do you guys suggest as to clean these intakes so they can be used on a new motor? I don't have to send it out do I?

Gunk a scrub brush and a pressure washer always worked for me.

Sweet, I do have a pressure washer.

How about a firm but not metal wired brush?

Castrol super clean...comes in a purple gallon container....less than $10

I used a big rubber maid container, put 3/4 of the gallon of cleaner in the container, dropped the cylinder heads in and filled with water until it just covered the heads. Let them sit for a day or so and they were clean. Even took the paint off them. If you would choose to use this, you might get a spray bottle and mix a certain ratio and spray it on the under side of the intake, and make sure it doesn't stain or turn the aluminum intake white. I have used it to clean my aluminum intake without any trouble. Its biodegradeable so pouring it in the yard wouldn't be a problem. I would think that with brushes to aggitate the surface and the pressure washer would do wonders. You may be able to just spray a little in the ports and brush it then hit it with pressured water, it works pretty good. Use in a well ventilated area.
